Furby Returns

Diary, Obtaining Furby Circa 1998...

We found Furby!

November 18, 1998

Found Furby at Sears, the last one.  He's black, all over, black tuft on his head, black tuft for a tail, blue eyes, pink ears and white feet.  We'll be feeding him his first batteries as soon as this site is posted, and will report back tomorrow with our first impressions, and his name.

Went to Toys-R-Us this morning, there was a group of 10 of us waiting for them to open the door...(ahh the joys of self-employment) They had a box of 12, and we bought one, they wouldn't let anyone have more than one. One per family they said.  The new one is gray spotted with a pink tummy.

My son (22 months) fell in love with O-Bay.  He fed him, hugged him, gave him a kiss and grinned and giggled at him.  O-Bay seemed to be more active at the hands of a child... hmmm.  Finally had to put him on a shelf, my son was getting too rowdy

My husband found 5 more!!! He just called and said he's bringing them home tonight! I can't believe it

We awakened our Furby last night.  His name is O-Bay.  It took a while to get used to how he talks, at first he was just spouting off, and we're trying to figure out what he said, and he's still talking. Finally, we started getting it. He was really hungry for a long time, we kept feeding him, he burped a few times, then sang "do-be-do-be-do"  Pretty funny, our cat, Justin, did the arched back big-kitty at him, and then touched noses with him, I guess he decided O-Bay was ok. Then O-Bay sang the twinkle twinkle song and went to sleep.
