Disney´s Animal Kingdom Adventure Depot
The event was fun, but it wasn´t as magical as I had hoped. The location in Houston was a large field adjacent to a park. The event area was roped off, and cast members were counting and controlling access to the event.
The Depot consists of 3 large tents and a large stage. There is the Animal Adventures tent, where stories are acted out approximately every 12 minutes. The tents seats several hundred.
The line for this is deceiving since it is entirely outside the tent, it looks much longer than it really is and most of the line was able to get in to see the show at any given time. This tent seats several hundred per the castmembers.
Then there is the DinoLand USA tent which features a small "boneyard" for children to unearth bones, as much like the park version as is possible in a travelling show. The kids really like this, digging in sand.
Camp Minnie-Mickey is housed in a tent with you-know-who on the top. This houses a queue area, and at the end of the line, Mickey & Minnie, all decked out in safari regalia. They will pose for 2 pictures per family, the cast members will take your picture for you, so you can join in the fun.
The stage, starts out with the different regions of the park covered up. As the show progresses, Goofy and other characters come along and talk about the park and each section is revealed along with a hint of what you can see there. (after all this is a travelling commercial)
All in all the event transformed a pasture into a small piece of Disney.
